Hour 1:
Writing It Out
When we confront someone verbally, be they spouse, friend or business associate, passions often run high. Each side can easily get defensive, focusing more on winning an argument than settling it. When you write out your thoughts, however, you can consider your words more carefully. “Writing out” disagreements – trading emails or correspondence – may be a more effective way to achieve resolution than talking them out.

Hour 2:
Whites Can’t Teach Black History?
That’s what they’re saying at Oberlin High School in Oberlin, Ohio. The idea is absurd (can only Christians teach European history?), racist (everyone but blacks are excluded) and, counter-productive (if the best teacher on the subject doesn’t teach the subject, students suffer). Also: Christopher Reeve goes to Israel to see what research Israelis are doing on spinal injuries and stem cell research. What has the Arab world contributed to medical science in the last 50 years? Isn’t this an indication of the quality of the state of Israel? Finally, malpractice suits against vets continue to gather momentum.

Hour 3:
Prager Activism in Action: The Grand Canyon Victory Update
Dennis talks again to Arizona State Robert Blendu. Back from his vacation, the senator found well over 200 handwritten letters from Prager listeners on his desk. He’s copying each letter and hand delivering them to both Arizona senators and the governor. Next week he’s going to Washington to see the Secretary of the Interior and the letters are going with him. Also: are our schools better or worse for the absence of a non-demonational prayer, the sort that children recited until the Supreme Court outlawed them in the early 60’s.
