Hour 1:
Libertarians and their party (and their new senator in Minnesota) claim to be fiscally conservative and socially libertarian. As an example, they and their party support same-sex marriage. This position is not libertarian; in fact, it violates the fundamental libertarian principle that government should get out people's lives. A libertarian position on marriage would be.

Hour 2:
Is "Voting more patriotic than waving the stars and stripes"?
That is the heading over a letter published today, Election Day, in USA Today. The letter writer, a woman form Pennsylvania, asserts that voting is patriotic, not waving the flag. Dennis disagrees; voting has little or nothing to do with patriotism.

Hour 3:
The corrosive effects of socialism on people's character
The Economist (10-26-2002) reports that 62% of Swedes say it is all right to call in sick when you're healthy and collect government money to take days off. And this is among people once known for their "work ethic."
