Hour 1: Tragedy in Chicago and Miami
A child is killed by a plane skidding off a runway in Chicago. In Miami, by all accounts a good man with a serious mental illness is killed by air marshals because he shouted he had a bomb. The air marshals are not to be blamed, but it's tragic that a decent man ends his life this way.... Saddam is turning his trial into a circus. The Iraqi court better take control soon or they will be granting Saddam a dangerous status he doesn't deserve... The President of Iran doubts the truth of the Holocaust... Think you had a bad day? A Japanese firm lost $225 million in one afternoon because of data entry error.
Hour 2: Happiness Hour: Appreciating the Mundane
The importance of appreciating the normal, the daily and the mundane in achieving happiness cannot be overestimated. People think they have to pursue thrills for happiness. This especially applies to teens.
Hour 3: Open Lines
Per usual, callers set the agenda. Issues raised include: how does Dennis feel that they they've taken away Mr. Potato Head's pipe; how can Dennis defend the TV show "Family Guy"; why do same sex siblings have a hard time getting along; why is the administration so bad in defending itself; does society over emphasize the importance of sexual attraction in marriage.
