The Color of America
Guest: Henry Louis Gates, Jr. WEB Dubois Professor of Humanities, Chair of the African and African American Studies Dept and author of America Behind the Color Line: Dialogues with African Americans.
Politics of Envy
As Democrats battle their way through the primaries, they play on the politics of wealth envy. It's a destructive tactic that suggests that there is something morally wrong about being "rich." It also conveniently ignores the fact that "the rich" pay most of taxes and provide almost all of the private sector jobs.
Women and TV
Women watch more TV than men and more single women than married women. Men tend to watch sports while women watch prime-time and day-time TV. Immersion in TV has a negative impact on these women's lives – first, sitcoms give a distorted, buffoonish view of men; second, the slant of the shows is overwhelmingly liberal. A Best of Prager Hour. Originally Broadcast on October 1, 2003.
