The State We're In
The California Recall election is an unfolding disaster. Schwarznegger may be the best option but he doesn't inspire confidence. He says he's against vouchers. That puts him to the left of Dianne Feinstein. That he skipped the first debate is also not a good sign. But what are the alternatives? Davis has been a disaster and Bustamente will be one.
High School Re-education
Guest: Anderson Jonas, 17-year-old high school "drop out." He tells Dennis his story -- how his teachers tried to convince him that he, like every other white person in his Magnet program, was unconsciously racist and sexist. Now he's finishing his high school education on his own.
Throw Tomatoes and Die
In Ohio a man shot and killed one of a group of "pranksters" who threw tomatoes and paint balls at his car. It's a tragedy that someone was killed -- the shooter should be caught and prosecuted -- but what can we to do to stop people who want to harm us or our property. Complain to the police? The police aren't interested. Out of this failure of our authorities to protect us from crime comes this story of anger, frustration and death.
